COL Bernard Lindstrom, Commander, USACE Pittsburgh District, will be discussing current and future activities forecasted for the Pittsburgh District. The meeting will be held on March 11, 2014, at noon, at the ESWP.
COL. Bernard R. Lindstrom is originally from Monroeville, PA and assumed command of the USACE Pittsburgh District on January 11, 2013. As the Commander, he is responsible for leading the District’s Civil Works mission in the Ohio River Basin to provide navigation, flood damage reduction, recreation, environmental restoration, hydropower, storm damage reduction, regulatory, water supply and emergency response. Prior to assuming command of the Pittsburgh District, he served in a variety of engineer command and leadership assignments across the globe. Key command and leadership positions include Executive Director, Directorate of Civil Works, USACE in Washington, D.C.; Commander, Nashville District, USACE in Nashville, Tennessee; Joint Engineer Plans and Operations Chief, U.S. Forces Korea in Seoul, Korea; Executive Officer to the Deputy Chief of Staff Engineer, U.S. Army Europe in Heidelberg, Germany; Executive Officer, 18th Engineer Brigade in Bagram, Afghanistan; Executive and Operations Officer, 94th Engineer Battalion in Baghdad, Iraq; and direct leadership of an engineer company and platoons in the 317th and 16th Engineer Battalions.
